Deck Primer
An aggressive EX5 MetalEtemon deck with a heavy Sukamon presence, and the addition of some of the more defensive capabilities provided by the EX5 set.
It's meant to be played aggressively and fast with the Chuumon allowing for some soft security (BT14), memory control (BT3) and draw through cheap digivolving. The EX5 Chuumon are almost exclusively played directly on to the field through security checks (including Cootie Kick), BT11 Chuumon's and EX5 Etemon's inherited effect (also BT11 MetalEtemon's on play effect from BT14 Etemon's securit effect).
The various Lvl 4 Sukamon are primarily meant to be played straight to field and serve as means of protecting other Digimon with their inherited effect, in addition to ensuring there are Sukamon in hand and in the trash to for KingSukamon's and MetalEtemon's main effects. Targetmon is meant to provide additional Etemon and Sukamon for effects in addition to providing some situational blockers. I have experimented with ratios but ultimately I found they become removal targets easily and you don't want to lean too hard into defense unless you need it, so put them out selectively as you would need them much like you would with the BT3 Chuumon. You are going to keep alive mostly through security manipulation, and even use that security manipulation for counter ambush plays.
The Etemon and MetalEtemon are meant to provide you heavy hitters but also punish and goad aggressive play. Your Sukamon should keep them alive, and they are efficient at pulling more Digimon on to the field that you need in times where you're getting pressured. Don't be afraid to trash them when you need to though as there are plenty of instances where you can bring them back. EX5 Etemon is actually a great high cost straight to field Digimon to play early as it forces your opponent to stumble their setup. It's worth noting that MetalEtemon by itself for whatever reason just doesn't really thrive alone, so don't feel too much pressure to get him out too quickly unless you need it.
Suka's Curse and BT11 KingSukamon's effects turning opponents digimon into 3000dp White Sukamon also provide great speedbump effects as they prevent most digivolving and some tamer effects. Suka's Curse also combos well with BT11 KingSukamon by allowing a quick cheap digivolve ignoring regular costs or requirements, allowing your BT11 KingSukamon to do additional security checks, and in some instances even pull a second BT11 KingSukamon out for a very rapid attack on security that can be protected by Cooties Kick and deletion of other Sukamon to keep them alive.
This deck has very few tamers or options otherwise. Most plays are cheap enough that it won't matter too much that you're not starting on 3 memory by default and personally what I've noticed can be a psychological overconfidence from opponents in their absence, but they're handy to have around in case your opponent is smart enough to wise up to that. In most cases options and tamer effects are going to be very situational as the numerous on deletion and on play/digivolving effects are going to be doing most of the heavy lifting keeping your digimon alive, your security healthy, and your opponents digimon weak and vulnerable.
